    Asharqia Chamber presents you with its best regards and informs you of receiving the letter of the Federation of Saudi Chambers No. (43100532) dated (12/2/1443), concerning the letter of the Food and Drug General Authority No. (3105/p) and dated (1/2/1443). Regarding the authority’s role in contributing to the promotion and protection of public health, and in light of the policies and procedures recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) aimed at reducing chronic diseases as well as reducing the consumption of sugar, salt, and fats, and a reference to the healthy food regulation strategy launched by the authority in cooperation with the relevant authorities The relevant government and private sector, which includes the private sector’s initiatives aimed at making their food products more healthy, thus contributing to the promotion of public health, and since the authority launched the voluntary commitment initiative for companies to improve the nutritional value of their food products and make them more healthy. The initiative included food companies re-manufacturing and innovating products with Low-sodium, low-sugar, and saturated fat diets, ensuring that food products with a high content of sugar, salt, and fat are not marketed to children, with a commitment to supporting healthy lifestyles and participating in raising community awareness.
